Welcome to BurzonArt!

You’ve found my new website! This site is replacing a smattering of other sites that I’ve worked with: Ko-fi.com, artrepreneur.com, blogger.com, and SmugMug.com, to name a few. I am keeping a presence on Artrepreneur for now, because I like their art resume form, and blogger because it is free and houses my original art blog (more on that in another post).

With this change, I’m also letting the “FanFARE Themed Art” name go. That was a legacy from when I was making themed jewelry for professionals wanting jewelry appropriate for professional and more formal occasions that also celebrate a favorite novel or character or series. I called that FanFARE Themed Jewelry… which I later turned to FanFARE Themed Art., thinking I would work through a series of themes, maybe some concurrently. I definitely had a theme at first with my An Apple A Day project (more on that in another post). After that, I switched to a theme of Play, in keeping with my thoughts on the role of play in creativity (I discuss this a little in my artist statement—see about.). But beyond that, I didn’t find myself actually working that way. So I’m going to go with BurzonArt for now and simplify things.

My mother used to tell me about how the planning office she worked in at one time (she did architectural drawings) had a sign that read, “Simplicity is next to godliness.” So I’m going to go that route.
